This course explores many of the various departments and constituencies that leaders of sports organizations must coordinate and leverage in order to fulfill their strategic goals. The class will examine concrete fundamentals - such as facilities, management structure, special events, sponsorships and revenue streams ¿ and philosophical concepts including innovation, decision-making, collaborative efforts, goals and expectations. By approaching these elements from a top-management perspective, this course will not only take a deep dive into the enumerated topics but will also show how the pieces of the puzzle must fit and work together in both the college and professional sports landscapes.
