Description:

This course explores the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and the challenges associated with its implementation. An important focus of the course is the role of law - that now includes the ACA - in promoting health care quality, accountability, access and efficiency. Within this context, healthcare delivery systems, health insurers and pharmaceutical companies have been modifying their business models in ways that will be discussed in the course. Case studies will be utilized to illustrate the applicable legal principles and management strategies, and guest speakers will add to the in-depth discussions.
